Boley Road Lake

Carp mirror, common, ghost and crucian, tench, rudd, roach, perch and bream.

The biggest carp reported during 2006/07 season was a 37lb  common.

This lake fishes very similar to Pebmarsh and both float and ledger work.  In the warmer months surface fishing works wonders with four fish an hour  not uncommon, just don’t fish over the fish, ignore the margins and you’ll  miss out.

Corn, bread, caster, maggot or luncheon meat.

20 pegs fishing from marked swims only.

All fish to be returned via an unhooking mat or weigh sling NOT by landing net.

See the rules relating to keepnets.

Take the A1124 from Earls Colne towards White Colne. Approximately half a mile past Chalkney Garage you will see Boley Road on the left. Stay on this narrow road for 2 miles looking for the car park and lake on the right. The car park is just inside the field, do not park on the roadside but in the car park which has been extended in 2020, there is a gate with a combination lock (lock code is on your club card). driving down to the water is not allowed.

Fishing has generally been better in the summer months with both large carp and tench present, however don’t ignore it in the winter.
