This a beautiful stretch of river having both deep and shallow sections making this a perfect spot to pole, float fish or leger. A stick float trotted can provide some great sport.
Maggots, caster, bread, hemp and worms all work well with dead-bait and spinning accounting for pike and perch
On the A1124 formerly the A604 towards Colchester, Tey Road is on the right between the garage and the Carved Angel pub. About 1 mile along this road, towards Chalkney Woods, you will see the last house on the left has a gate next to it. Parking is on the grass verge at the side of the road. Walk through the gate and the path to the next set of gates and on into the meadow. Please make sure that you shut the gates. The river is directly in front of you. The club section covers three fields. These are the one you are standing in and the ones either side of you, i.e. from the Riverside Indian Restuarant to the mill fence.
